FIRSTLY.....THERE IS A LOT OF MISLEADING INFO ON PET PIGS ON THE INTERNET AT THE MOMENT AND THIS SADDENS ME AS THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT THINKING OF THE WELFARE OF THE ANIMALS THEY ARE SELLING.....
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A 30 or 40CM MINI PIG. IF there was why are there so many 6 month - 1 year old "mini" pigs for sale??? maybe because they have outgrown 30 - 40 cms already!!!
Pigs arent fully grown until they are 4 years old. DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU ANYTHING DIFFERENT!!!!
We have both fully grown parents available for viewing.
Male and female piglets available for sale. in Brown and also black and white spotty.
Pigs are very intelligent, clean animals and make great pets for the right people.
To keep a pet pig you need at least an acre. Other people may tell you something different but do they keep their pigs on property that is smaller then an acre.....NO! Pigs, just like cows, goats and horses are farm animals. You dont see people keeping cows as suburban backyard pets WHY??? THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE for suburban back yards the same goes for pigs DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING ELSE!
TO KEEP A PIG IN THE SUBURBS IS AGAINST COUNCIL REGULATIONS. Schedule 2 of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 states that:
�. . . swine must not be kept (and swine�s dung must not be deposited) within 60 m of a dwelling, shop, office, factory, church or other place of public worship, workshop, school or public place in a city, town, village or other urban part of an area.�
So basically despite what other pig breeders may say, if you live in the suburbs you cannot have a pet pig, the regulations are above and you cannot keep a pig of any sort.
Now that thats out of the way.....
All our piglets are currently 8 weeks old and are full of character. Our breeding pigs come to their names and are trained for basic obedience such as sit and go home.
Pigs will socialise with family members and other animals including dogs, horses, goats, cows, sheep chickens, ducks etc. Hunting dogs are obviously not recommended if you want a pet pig.
All piglets are wormed, prior to sale. Our pigs are approximately 50-55 cms tall and weigh between 60 - 90 kg fully grown.
