SILKIES, SILKIE FRIZZLES & PEKINS

If you are looking for a friendly, chatty, sweet-natured breeds of poultry as a first bird for you children, or a companion for yourself, the Silkies & Pekins are one of the most compliant, and docile animals ever born, and despite their soft delicate appearance are reasonably robust. A great choice for the novice or a child, they have an average lifespan of 8-9 years, and make excellent mums, they will raise 6-8 chicks at a time, and most will foster other hen’s chicks.

These guaranteed girls are 10-12 weeks of age and are exceptional quality – they have been reared in a very quiet environment, and will make wonderful children’s pets, as well as being quite a show piece. They’ve been vaccinated for Mareks & Fowl Pox.

The frizzles are a breed of chicken with characteristic curled or frizzled plumage. They are a docile, gentle and quiet chicken breed. They have feathers which curl outwards, instead of lying flat.
