Thinking of owning your own dairy cow? Recently bought one and not quite sure what to do? This workshop is a full course covering the ownership and management of a family cow.

The date for the upcoming workshop is 23rd July and it will run from 11am-3pm in Toogoolawah, Qld. Tickets are $75 for adults or $40 for children under 13 and includes lunch. There are only 15 spots per workshop so get in quick!
Join Critter Care’s milkmaid Tamara and learn how to milk and handle cows with Tallulah the Jersey and Arwen the British White and her calf Nimue.
There will be plenty of chances to ask questions and I can work the topics around what the group most wants to know about. Learn how to get your own cruelty-free milk and enjoy the benefits of once-a-day milking by keeping the cow with the calf - a technique called 'calf sharing'. Learn simple methods for teaching a cow to lead, how to train calves for the foundations of a future house cow, plus troubleshooting tips for unruly behaviour. Get info on breeding, pregnancy testing and the signs of an impending calf.
Relax and enjoy a light and nutritious vegetarian lunch and refreshments. You will also be free to sample some of our complimentary, homemade dairy products!
