END OF YEAR SALE - Heritage Breed Chickens
We have a variety of purebred, heritage breeds for sale from chicks to POL. Breeds include Orpingtons (crele, cuckoo, blue and black buff, blue and splash), Sussex (colours silver, platinum, speckled), Rhode Island Reds and Backyard Layers/pets.
They have all been de wormed and de mited, we select for quality birds each generation and they are healthy and let out to free range. Details on each breed and age group is listed below.
All of these chickens for sale were hatched and raised by us, there is also deliveries to East Coast Queensland available (from Childers down to Brisbane).
Heritage Rhode Island Reds:
At the moment we only have Single Comb Rhode Islands, they all have yellow legs, orange eyes and good colouring/body shape. Suitable for breeding, laying etc. They have been bred from show lines.
- 1 to 5 month old Pullets and Cockerels - sold sexed
- Breeding hens, all 12 to 18 months of age, laying and proven breeders
- Working Cockerels aged 8 - 12 months, good quality
- Pairs and trios of working and laying Rhode Islands for breeding, good quality birds, roosters unrelated
Orpingtons:
Orpingtons are a large dual purpose breed. The pullets and cockerels listed below have good shape and colouring. Bred from show lines. Can make good pets and layers or breeders.
- 4 week old chicks - sold sexed - in males we are selling crele, cuckoo, blue and blue buff. In females we have Blue Buff, Black Buff and cuckoo.
- 2 to 5 month olds - sold sexed - cuckoo, project colours, crele, splash, black buff, blue buff is available in males and blue buff, black buff and cuckoo is available in females.
- Working Project colour Lemon Cuckoo rooster, 12 months of age
- Single Factor Cuckoo Orpington rooster, 7 months of age, starting to work
Sussex:
Sussex are a heavy dual purpose breed, prized for their large eggs and friendly temperament. Platinum and Silver are great looking birds to breed/own. They have been bred selectively to match the standard.
- Fertile Platinum and Silver Sussex eggs, we post to most states, the result of the eggs is a percentage of both Platinum chicks and Silver chicks
- 4 to 8 week old Silver and Platinum sussex - sold sexed - some suitable for laying others for breeding. Show lines. Only have cockerels left in Platinums.
- 3 to 5 month old Silver Sussex - sold sexed - both males and females available. Show lines.
- Silver Sussex laying hens - all are 12 months except for 1 hen who is 24 months, laying and are proven breeders. All are breeding quality.
- Day old Speckled Sussex chicks - sold unsexed
Layers and Heritage Backyarders:
If you are after hens purely for laying or pets these chooks are ideal, they are cheaper than breeding and show quality birds and lay 200 to 300 eggs per year depending on breed. The colours hatched look great and temperament is good for handling. The hamburg crosses rarely go broody.
- 4 week old Hamburg crosses, gold and black and silver and black, sold as sexed, only females available. Lay 250 medium sized white eggs each year.
- 3 month old pullets - silver and black and gold and black. Only females available.
- POL backyard layers in colours of Red, black and gold. Lay 200 to 250 eggs per year depending on hen. All are 12 months old.
- POL Backyard quality Rhode Island Reds - 8 months old, lay 250 to 300 eggs per year, hens have white patches on chest (genetic faults).

Deliveries:
We deliver to locations on the East Coast from Childers to Brisbane. We travel to Brisbane often and if you are located on the East Coast and would like birds delivered contact us and we will let you know when we are heading down.
